Jimmy John's Brand Champ
As a team we had the challenge of improving the retention of new starters at Jimmy John's.
Our concept was to create engaging content that sets the team up as members of a band. The idea is that team members need to encompass the JJ's values by living them out in their everyday tasks in stores and outside of stores.
We used various musical instruments and rock band members to symbolise each of the values. The ultimate goal would be to encompass all 6 values and become a true rock star for the brand.
The project involved our team of leads working collaboratively to come up with this concept, and work together to ensure we delivered to the highest standard, while keeping track of profitability, ensuring we could find solutions not only for the client, but for our revenue as well. Simplifying and making smart decisions when it came to execution.
As the motion and design lead, I found efficiencies in rolling out animations and design. Creating templatized graphics for multiple animations and elements that were used across all the video lessons lessened the load in post-production as this ensured we could work in the background while the film and narrative lead travelled to Chicago for filming. We had weekly meetings with the client, as the lead pod, ensuring we worked collaboratively and to the standard of the client, building a really good relationship with them.
This led to the request of a follow-up project, which we also delivered on in the form of an interactive game for the JJ's Training Games.
The Brand Champ project entailed motivational videos, videos highlighting and showing the various brand values and how crew could deliver on these, printed magnets, badges, and coaching cards for managers in helping train and acknowledge crew displaying these values and showing them how to aid staff in improving.
Although I was the lead overseeing all aspects of design and animation, I also executed all print design collateral and helped on a few of the animation executions.
